Mapping Interface Filtering Data |
EpiCollect.net - Filtering Data
There will be cases where you may wish to view only a subset of data points on the map based on a particular value of a data entry field used for the project. To enable this we provide the facility to filter data entries. To access this section of the mapping interface, click the TAB on the left hand panel with the title 'Data Filtering' as in the following screenshot.
Fields that are available for filtering will be listed on the left hand section of the mapping interface. These will have been specified when the project was initially set up. A series of dropdown lists will allow you to choose a value of a particular variable. As an example we will choose only to view those entries where the answer to the question 'Which search engine do you most often use?' is 'Google'. When selecting this option, the map updates and will only display points for those entries where data submitters have specified the answer to the question as 'Google'. You will also note that the charts in the chart view update to indicate the summaries of the other charted fields for only those entries where the answer has been specified as 'Google' (see the following screenshot).
![]() The final way to filter data is using the Time Slide which we will now detail.
