Adding a Video Field

EpiCollect+ allows the definition of one or more video fields, allowing a user to attach a video clip to an entry. Video is captured directly from the mobile devices camera.

A video field is added in exactly the same way as a photo field. Simply drag and drop the 'video' field from the left hand section of the form builder to anywhere within your form.

The most important properties to define are the 'Label' and 'ID'

Label - The Label should contain the Question you would present to a user.

ID - The ID can be viewed as the column heading under which users answers will be stored in the database.

Required: Checking this means that a user MUST record a video before continuing .

Any number of Video fields can be added to a form.

When the project is loaded onto a handset, and this point in the form is reached, the user is presented with a button to 'Tap to Add Video (as in the screenshots below).

The devices camera is launched and the user may start and stop video capture using the button on screen.

When a video is taken, a thumbnail is viewed by the user, who can, if required tap 'Tap to Update video' to capture another video.

We will now move on to describing the addition of an audio clip input.
