Creating a Project

Clicking ' Create project' will forward you to the login page.

Google Mail Authentication

To provide security so that you can amend your project website and form we use Google Mail Authentication. This means you need to have a Google Mail account and login to allow you to build your form.

Each time you want to amend your form or project website you will need to login.

If you do not have a Google Mail account you can create one easily and for free by clicking the following logo

gmail

Note: If you have installed our server software locally, you can also create EpiCollect user accounts and utilise LDAP.

1) Project definition

The first thing to do is give your project a name. Your project name should be simple and only contain alphanumeric characters (no spaces or non-alphanumeric characters). If your project name is available, this will be indicated and you can click 'Continue'.

Note: For advanced users - you can also upload an EpiCollect Markup Language (ecml) project definition describing your project - See Instructions for Developers)

2) Data Visibility

You can now choose whether you would like to make your project Public, allowing anyone to see and submit data or Private, which allows you to restrict access to your project website. These options can be changed after creating your project. You can add users who you wish to have access to your project through the 'manage project' button at any time.

3) Project Listing on the homepage

Here you can specify whether you would like your project to be included in a list of projects available for anyone to browse. This can be useful if you would like to encourage users to submit data to your project. We will be making available a list of public projects shortly.

Once complete, you will be taken to your project homepage where you can define your form using our Form Builder.
